The Silos RV Resort near Opelousas, LA

Guests comparing RV parks near Opelousas, Louisiana usually land here for the same reason: you can spend the day in town and still come back to a quiet site with a pool, a beach and water to fish. The Silos RV Resort sits on LA-31 with wide, level standard and premium sites, so big rigs pull in without a fuss and the drive into Opelousas stays short and simple.

Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino is the easy evening pick, close enough that you're back before the coffee's cold in the morning. History lovers can spend a slow morning at the Opelousas Museum & Interpretive Center, then walk through the Louisiana Orphan Train Museum/ Musée du train orphelin de Louisiane. Start at the Opelousas Tourist Info Center - Le Vieux Village if you'd rather have somebody local point you in the right direction first.

Families tend to split the day between town and the resort. South City Park and North City Park give the kids room to run, and Sidney Street Playground or Fern Street Playground makes a good stop before heading back. Anglers can head out toward Lake Bayou or the Calcasieu River nearby, then finish the day fishing right here. Among RV parks near Opelousas, Louisiana, few make it this easy to do both.

This is our new go-to campground resort in the Lafayette, LA area. This park is absolutely everything we want in a campground.....spotless, well organized and well lit, quiet as can be, scenic and it also has clean restrooms, showers and laundry facilities ($4 total per load). The wifi actually works like you were at home, fast and reliable. They even pick up your garbage bags for you! Fantastic young couple owns, operates and lives on site. We've been there twice now and plan on making it our regular stop on our way through Southwest LA. Absolutely the best park in the area!

If you need a calm get away for the weekend, where you can soak in the pool or throw a line in the pond while sipping a few cold ones, then this is definitely the place for you. We live 10 miles away and really loved the place for a weekend away from the house. The owners were super and were willing to talk with about their outlook for the place. It's only UP from here for them.
